Mr. Botshelo Maruatona is a seasoned teacher specialising in English Language and Literature, with more than 18 years of experience in secondary school education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Botswana and has undertaken postgraduate studies in Organisational Development and Peace and Conflict Studies. He has also completed training in Corporate Governance, further enhancing his leadership and governance capabilities.
In addition to his teaching career, Mr. Maruatona serves within the leadership structures of Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU), where he contributes to the advancement of teachers’ professional interests and welfare. His extensive experience in education, organisational leadership, labour representation, and governance enables him to bring valuable perspectives on teacher development, stakeholder engagement, and professional standards to the Board.
